Tenterden Road, Kent
Residential | Private
This project consists of a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, two storey detached dwelling set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The external materials consist of render, larch cladding, slate tiles and brickwork in a respectful, but contemporary language. in time, the larch will weather to a dull grey and ground the building in it's context. Internally, the plan is light filled and has cathedral like spaces on the first floor. Full height, panoramic windows establish tri-aspect views at ground level and connect internal living spaces to the extensive garden space. Bedroom spaces are dynamic with cathedral like volumes and playful windows emphasising the pitched ceiling.
The dwelling benefits from extensive sustainability measures, which includes on site foul water treatment and discharge, integrated solar panels, log burner, efficient boiler, LED lighting and a fabric first approach to insulation. Externally, native species were planted and the rear of the site consists of a wild flower meadow.
We completed the technical drawings, site inspections and planning conditions.
